Classics in Corbridge 2016

When we relaunched the club last year we chose Classics in Corbridge as our 'annual rally' . It is an excellent show and raises a lot of money for charity. It is also a favourite because those of us who choose to can arrive on Saturday and camp. This means we can have a barbeque Saturday evening and be there for the show on Sunday without getting caught up in the traffic jams.

The weather on Saturday evening wasn't too kind to us with heavy showers but we still managed to send the men outside to cook the food but we did have to give in and eat inside as it turned cold. And the gazebo had been pressed into use as a garage!  Good food, a few glasses of vino and good conversation kept our spirits up.

Sunday morning arrived and happily it wasn't raining. It was however very windy and I can tell you moving the gazebo to the arena was a trifle hairy. I had visions of a Mary Poppins moment!

We had an excellent spot in the main arena this year (our turn) and soon our cars started to arrive and once the two gazebos were up we had to do a bit of manoeuvring to get all the cars onto our stand - great news for the club!

We had a lovely day, manning the stand, looking at the 900+ cars from the varying clubs that attended, listening to the excellent band and huddling in the gazebo out of the cold wind. At least it didn't rain!
