Two Day Run Out 13-14th April 2019

The fifth running of our annual two day event took place at the weekend, on a cool but dry two days (apart from several hail showers when crossing the North Yorks. Moors)

The line-up was Keith in the BMW, Bryan and Sharron in the MG, John and Dorothy in the Merc., Arthur and Liz in the TVR and Micheal and Denise iand Alan in the Robin Hoods. We set off from Cramlington and headed out over the moors to Middleton in Teesdale with everyone enjoying the hairpins at Stanhope!!!! Lunch was at the beautiful surroundings of Eggleston Hall before we headed out via Brough, Kirby Stephen, an Hawes for a petrol stop (Micheal took his earlier as he ran out of petrol) The route continued via Settle to Skipton where everything went a little pear shepped as Alan in the lead car got totally confused as to where he was- some would say that is not unusual !! and we all decided to take the shortest route back to the hotel at Stockton as the tought of a night ov eating and an occasional drink was calling.

Day two saw us loose Keith as he was finding driving difficult with a swollen knee so he returned home after Breakfast. The five remaining cars headed out to Stokesley and over the classicB1257 to Helmslet and then on to Pickering where we stopped at the garden centre for coffee etc. From Pickering we went across the moos again on the A169 to whitby but turned left to take us back to middlesbourgh and them the a19 home.

It was an absolutley briliant weekend with classic roads and great company and I am already looking at the map to see wwhere we can go next year but I do know it will take some route to beat this years
